About D2D Reuse: From Doorstep to New Life for E-Waste

D2D Reuse: From Doorstep to New Life for E-Waste is a pilot project of the INTERREG EUROPE WEEEwaste project, focused on giving electronic devices a second life. We collect e-waste directly from households and track each device using a digital system, making the journey from collection to reuse fully transparent. Our goal is to reduce waste, recover valuable resources, and make reuse a normal part of how we handle electronics.

What we do

We connect three simple steps into one smart system:

Collect

Track

Track devices with QR-based digital tools

Reuse

Reuse devices through repair, resale, or responsible processing

Every device is recorded and followed throughout its lifecycle from the moment it is collected, ensuring nothing gets lost along the way.

Why it matters

Every year, millions of electronic devices are discarded, while many of them are still usable or repairable. Instead of being reused, they often disappear from official systems wasting valuable materials, shortening the life of products that still have potential, and polluting the environment.

D2D Reuse changes this by making the journey of each device visible and traceable. By connecting people, technology, and data, we turn waste into opportunity—reducing environmental impact while giving electronics a second life.

Because a more sustainable future isn’t just about better recycling. It’s about smarter reuse.
